This is a software that will help take inventory of hardware and software resources on a network and manage it.
The program scans hardware and software configuration of network computers and builds a computer asset database. You can then generate professional reports of these inventory items for managing the assets. The tool is able to track and display hardware and software changes quite easily. It is possible for IT department personnel to look up the resources available on a remote computer. Resource details as computer hardware configuration, which processors are running in network computers, how much memory is installed, which HDD models and DVD drives are used could be queried and details determined quite quickly and easily. Similarly details of software like installed applications (including information on operating system type, installed hotfixes, and programs included in the startup folder), control licenses, version, when does the license expire, etc. can be found easily.
You can view the hardware and software configuration of network computers remotely, track and watch the configuration changes, and generate various reports. It should be possible to create reports on computers with insufficient RAM size or disk space (e.g., all computers with less than 1 GB of RAM, for example). Similarly a report on computers with particular CPU models, video cards, or printers could be created. If need be you could analyze the inventory data deeper. The program exports inventory data to the following databases MS SQL, MS Access, Postgre, Linter, etc. You could even integrate this program with your MIS system or help desk. This is a very good product. If you are looking for a similar solution, this is a good candidate for a trial in your exact set up.
